The waters of the Arabian Gulf embrace most of Qatar, with the coastline extending 560km. Some beaches such a Khor Al Adaid (The Inland Sea) are only accessible in a four-wheel-drive vehicle, while others such as Al-Wakra are close enough to drive to from Doha for an afternoon stroll. The calm warm waters of the Gulf make swimming a pleasure pastime, but beware of jellyfish during the summer months.
