Package

3 Year contract (renewable)

  • Single contract for unmarried candidates, while Family contract offered for married candidates.
  • Generous Tax free basic salary. Offered according to experience.
  • From 11400 up to 21000 QAR per month (depending on experience).  21 000 QAR is +/- 7800 AUD per month basic salary. Salary paid in QAR.
  • Free fully furnished accommodation provided.
  • Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.
  • Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).
  • School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) per child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.
  • 40 days paid annual vacation days.
  • End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.

Minimum Requirements

Education:  (FULL TIME STUDIES ONLY)

Minimum:

2 years Anesthesia Diploma  WITH 12 years total Licensed experience in Anesthesia of which 4 years must have been as an Anesthesia Technologist.

OR

3 years Anesthesia Diploma  WITH 9 years total Licensed experience in Anesthesia of which 4 years must have been as an Anesthesia Technologist

OR

B.Sc Degree in Nursing + 1 year Anesthesia Diploma  WITH 9 years total Licensed experience in Anesthesia of which 4 years must have been as an Anesthesia Technologist.

OR

B.Sc Degree in Anesthesia WITH 8 years Licensed experience.

Preferred

M.Sc Degree in Anesthesia.

 

Required certification/licensure:

Valid Primary License from the country of origin if applicable AND should be eligible for license in the State of Qatar within the Supreme Council of Health.

 

Language Skills:

Fluent in English - Oral and Written.


Job Specification

Job Summary:

The Anesthesia Chief Technologist is responsible for all Anesthesia technical issues within the anesthesia unit, and assumes all the duties requested by their superior at any time and at any facility of the Department of Anesthesiology.

 

Common Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the anesthesia equipment and assist the anesthesiologist as an anesthesia technician and technologist in all anesthesia procedures.
  • Perform procedures for which s/he has validated competencies as requested by their superior.
  • Helps in department’s educational and scientific activities by participating in data collection, finalization of Technician lectures and organizations of workshops.
  • Monitor and manage anesthesia technologist and technician performance
    General performance and annual evaluation for the anesthesia technologist and technician in their respective units.
  • Organize and coordinate educational, orientation and training program for anesthesia technical staff in their respective section with that of the whole department.
  • Ensure personnel and educational files of the technical staff are complete and current.
  • Function as a member of the Anesthesia technical staff development committee.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and application of the mission, vision and values.

 

Key Interactions:

  • Comply with policies and procedures, and in particular infection control, safety, and Quality management.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Anesthesia guidelines, protocols, general policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly duty roster for Anesthesia technologists and technicians as well as their daily assignments.
  • Communicate with engineering/servicing department for equipment/instrument maintenance.
  • Evaluate the unit’s needs for medication stock levels and medical supplies; requisition as needed and control their delivery and storage.
  • Helps the anesthesia departmental leadership in reviewing, implementing and disseminating anesthesia technical policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Evaluates new anesthesia instruments and equipment and provides respective feedback report to their supervisor.
  • As needed assign a special group of staff inside the operating theater to assist the Anesthesiologist in difficult cases and major emergencies.
  • Performs monthly and annual reports for their Anesthesia section.
  • Perform a variety of technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist attending technologists and technicians in performing anesthetic procedures.
  • Assist in developing staffing plan and scope of service for the Anesthesia section.
  • Support Department of Anesthesia quality improvement efforts.
  • Maintains immediate availability to assist in routine and emergency procedures when needed at any time at any facility.
