*Qatar Public Healthcare provider seeking to recruit international candidates*

Must have expert knowledge and the ability to apply Australian ICD-10-AM, ACHI, ACS standards and guidelines assigning accurate codes to ensure correct AR-DRG assignment.

  • ICD-10-AM: International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, Tenth Revision, Australian Modification.
  • ACHI: Australian Classification of Health Interventions.
  • ACS: Australian Coding Standards.

Estimated Total Monthly Salary 27 300 QAR (+/- 11 400 AUD) .

Package

OVERSEAS CONTRACT: GRADE 112

Basic Salary: +/- 21 000 QAR per month. This is an estimated amount. The offered amount is the discretion of the employer. 

Transport Allowance: 1250 QAR per month. 

Special Allowance: 5050  QAR per month. 

Accommodation: Provided.

Annual Leave: 40 calendar days.

Schooling Assistance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) (up to 3 children) per child per academic year up to (ages from 5-18 years and provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha). Payment will be made upon submission of the appropriate receipts and will cover basic tuition fee only (provided that you obtained residence permit for them under your sponsorship).

Air Passage Entitlement: Economy class air passage/flight ticket for self and family - up to 3 children up to 18 years old, on joining, annual leave & repatriation (provided that he/she obtained residence permit for them under his/her sponsorship).

Baggage Allowance: Unaccompanied baggage for yourself - up to 50 kg and family up to 200 kg on joining, and 100kg for self and 250 kg for family on  repatriation, to be reimbursed at standard rate.

Minimum Requirements

Must have expert knowledge and the ability to apply ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS standards and guidelines assigning accurate codes to ensure correct AR-DRG assignment.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:

A qualification in ICD-10-AM from HIMAA

or Bachelor of Health Information Management that includes ICD-10-AM clinical coding modules

or  Accredited Intermediated or Advanced ICD-10-AM Clinical Coding Certificate 

or  A qualification in ICD-10-AM from a recognized educational authority.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

6 years ICD-10-AM clinical coding experience.

LICENSE:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluent in English.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Level 3 Clinical Coder is a qualified and experienced professional who fulfills requirement to produce accurate, timely, and complete clinically coded data. The data generated from Clinical Coding supports the ability to provide information to internal and external stakeholders including the Ministry of Public Health and other relevant external organizations. The National Health Strategy of “Better Health, Better Care, and Better Value” is supported by the output from clinical coding. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Apply ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS standards and guidelines assigning accurate codes to ensure correct AR-DRG assignment for each episode of care 
  2. Liaise with clinicians regarding appropriate clinical documentation for clinical coding to ensure highest level of accuracy in clinically coded data. 
  3. Participate in meeting deadlines consistently. 
  4. Attendance and participation in quality and educational meetings. 
  5. Ability to identify inconsistencies of documentation, clinical or demographic, which would impact on the AR-DRG.
  6. Validate the generated AR-DRG to ensure that it is congruent with the clinical information provided in the medical record. 
  7. Actively initiate, lead, and participate in continued educational activities. 
  8. Assume responsibility for continuing their education and increasing their knowledge and skills of the Australian Coding Standards and other information relevant to their role. 
  9. Educate health professionals and less experienced Clinical Coders in relation to the importance of specific clinical documentation and its relationship to the assignment of the AR-DRG. 
  10. Superior ability to work autonomously, utilize, and share their expertise in Clinical Coding. 
  11. Support the Qatar National Vision by mentoring Level 1 and Level 2 Clinical Coders. 
  12. Report on and analyze aggregated clinical coding data. 
  13. Ensure the alignment of Health Information Management activities in the medical group to the National Health Strategy as appropriate. 
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
