Package

3 Year contract (renewable)

Single and family contracts available.

Generous Tax free basic salary. 

From 11400 QAR up to 21 000 QAR per month (depending on experience of candidate). Salary paid in QR. Depending on currency rates 21 000 QAR is +/- 370 000 INR/ 77 000 South-African Rand / 5800 USD/ 4900EUR/ 4300 GBP.

Free fully furnished accommodation provided.

Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).

School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) per child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.

40 days paid annual vacation days.

End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:

MD and/or equivalent.

Preferred Education:  MPH (Master of Public Health) and/or PhD (Doctor of Public Health)

 

EXPERIENCE:

3-5 years relevant experience in public health or community work.

Preferred Experience:  Direct patient care and/or public health or healthcare project management plus one year research or clinical or community work experience

Job Specification

Position Summary
The main objectives of the program are to (1) educate and liaise with the community about trauma & injury prevention to improve injury control measures within the country and to (2) increase the profile of Hamad General Hospital Trauma Center by increasing public awareness and by generating positive media coverage through community injury prevention programs and outreach activities.
 
 
Principal Accountabilities
  • Assist the Injury Prevention Director and, in his/her absence, coordinate, implement and maintain injury prevention programs and injury prevention activities for the Trauma Program at HGH based on Trauma Registry statistical data and community needs.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to offer community outreach injury prevention
  • related activities.
  • Assist in the development of standards in collaboration with relevant government agencies, non-government agencies and community-based entities.
  • Collate and report on injury prevention activities in the community and maintain accurate records of all injury prevention activities of the Trauma Service.
  • Assist the Injury Prevention Director in acting as a liaison and networking with local, national and regional stakeholders in the field of injury prevention.
  • Remain knowledgeable on and serve as an advocate and role model for injury prevention in the country.
  • Provide technical assistance and support in training staff and community leaders to lead educational injury prevention programs within the hospital and the community.
  • Collaborate with public affairs and marketing on injury prevention materials to be distributed within the community.
  • Implement and maintain evaluation tools and track program data to assess injury and injury prevention progress in the community.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary injury prevention research as appropriate.
  • Manage, monitor, evaluate and participate in the Alcohol Screening and Brief Intervention Program.
  • Participate in and explore applications for grant-funded opportunities related to injury prevention program support, as appropriate.
  • Remain current on injury control issues and methodologies by participating in programs offered by globally recognized injury prevention organizations, such as the Injury Prevention Research Center of the Center of Disease Control, the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma, the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the World Health Organization.
