Medical license:

  • License to practice must cover the min 2+ years experience.
  • Must have a current valid home country license to practice.
  • Must be eligible to license in the State of Qatar. 

Education:

Fulltime studies Bachelor Degree in one of the following:

  • Sport Science
  • Exercise Science
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Physiotherapy
  • Kinesiology
  • Human Performance

and 

  • Post Graduate Diploma with major exercise physiology or 
  • Certification from international recognized institution as Exercise Physiologist

Experience:

2+ years clinical experience in cardiovascular, pulmonary or metabolic disorders.

Position Summary:  The purpose of this role is to work closely with exercise physiologist, physiotherapy specialist, and physiotherapist and other multi-disciplinary team to decide proper patients’ care plan regarding patients’ performance during an exercise session and Conduct risk factor stratification. Work with special populations (cardiac patients, elderly, obese, women’s health, etc.) and individuals with controlled disease.  Perform exercise testing and develops comprehensive exercise prescriptions and supervise treatment sessions.

 

 



Package

 

Overseas Contract Grade 111. 

Total Salary (basic & transport allowance) +/- 16 400 QAR. Currency Conversion

Basic Salary: +/-  15 150 QAR per month. This is an estimated amount. The offered amount is the discretion of the employer. 

Transport Allowance: 1250 QAR per month. 

Accommodation: Provided.

Annual Leave: 40 calendar days.

Air Passage Entitlement: Economy class air passage/flight ticket for self and family - up to 3 children up to 18 years old, on joining, annual leave & repatriation (provided that he/she obtained residence permit for them under his/her sponsorship).

Baggage Allowance: Unaccompanied baggage for yourself - up to 50 kg and family up to 200 kg on joining, and 100kg for self and 250 kg for family on  repatriation, to be reimbursed at standard rate.

Specification

 

Duties:

1. Develop exercise prescriptions including exercise progression and home program.

2. Design and supervise exercise sessions.

3. Assist in patient and family education.

4. Provide ongoing psychological and motivational support in exercise class.

5. Assist in safety features of the class including checking medications and compliance to prescribed exercise program.

6. Provide ongoing support for risk factor management.

7. Provide exercise stress testing services in coordination with medical director (cardiologist consultant) and exercise physiologist.

8. Assess program participants for signs and symptoms of cardiovascular distress and assist participants in self evaluation.

9. Monitor the patients’ response to exercise.

10. Provide leadership in emergency procedures.

11. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings regarding planning, implementation, and revision of patient care programs.

12. Function as an educational resource for patients, families, and team members.

13. Maintain clear and concise patient care record.

14. Provide motivational support to patients and families regarding long-term behavior modification.

15. Collaborate with exercise physiologist to develop a specialist cardiac rehabilitation service to maximize patient care and use of resources.

16. Participate in clinical research and program evaluation in the areas of cardiac rehabilitation and cardiovascular (CVD) prevention.

17. Develop and update clinical knowledge and skills in a cardiac rehabilitation field to ensure delivery of evidence based care.

18. Participate in team in-service training in related specialty area to promote staff and personal development.

19. Collaborate with exercise physiologist to develop other cardiac rehabilitation programs to maximize patient care and use of resources.

20. Perform other duties as assigned.
