Permanent Opportunity | Competitive GP Specialist Earnings in Australia

Salary & Incentives:

Earn a competitive, uncapped income based on billings:

AUD 12,500 per month (approx. 55–75% of total billings)

 

Contract Type:

  • Long-term permanent role in either private or public primary care settings
  • No age limit to apply
  • Access to Australia’s free public healthcare system

 

Note: 

Income depends on location, patient volume, billing percentage, and your clinical expertise.

Rural and regional placements typically offer higher earnings.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

Fellowship of the RACGP.

Minimum 4 Years' study duration.

Licensing:

AHPRA registered and non restricted.

Eligible for a Medicare Provider Number.

Valid driver’s license.

Experience:

Minimum 3 years postgraduate clinical experience.

Other Requirements:

Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

No age restriction to apply.

Deliver full-scope primary care to patients across private clinics and public hospitals.

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions according to national healthcare standards.

Provide preventative care, lifestyle advice, and health education.

Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure continuity of care within multidisciplinary teams.

Refer patients to specialists and manage follow-up care as needed.

Comply with AHPRA registration and Medicare billing guidelines.

Participate in professional development and quality improvement initiatives.

Must meet eligibility for the Competent Authority Pathway or Specialist Pathway depending on qualifications and country of training.
