Minimum Requirements

International Hiring:

Candidates currently outside Qatar.

Arabic-Speaking candidates preferred.

Education:

PhD or Research Focused Master's Degree in Pharmacy.

Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g. ACCP; ASHP; ACRP; SCORA) (Optional)

Licensing:

Must hold a valid home-country license to practice.

Must be eligible for registration and licensing in the State of Qatar.

Essential Experience:

7+ Years research experience in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy, or related fields.

Experience as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co- Principal Investigator on clinical or translational research projects.

Research and Technical Expertise:

Strong track record in grant writing and funding acquisition.

Authored 50+ peer-reviewed publications (including first/senior author roles), with expertise in systematic reviews, clinical trials, and interventional studies.

Proficient in SPSS/Stata, REDCap/Qualtrics, EndNote, and well-versed in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and research compliance standards.

Specification

As Assistant Director of Pharmacy - Research, you will oversee the delivery and development of high-quality pharmacy services across hospital units.

Your responsibilities will include managing staff performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing medication safety systems, and supporting strategic planning alongside senior leadership.

You will play a key role in mentoring teams, driving departmental improvements, and deputizing for the Director when required.

Strong leadership, operational oversight, and clinical expertise are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Principal or Co-Principal Investigator on research projects
  • Lead pharmacy-related clinical and translational research across hospital settings
  • Manage research teams, timelines, and deliverables
  • Supervise and mentor graduate students, interns, and junior pharmacists
  • Oversee publication strategy, grant writing, and ethical compliance
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams and research institutions
  • Maintain active involvement in data analysis, peer-reviewed publishing, and institutional review processes
