3 Year contract (renewable)

  • Single and family contracts available.

Generous Tax free basic salary. Offered according to experience.

From 15 000 QAR up to 27875 QAR basic salary per month. 

27875  QAR +/- 115 000  ZAR, 7000 EUR , 11400 AUD, 7700 USD, 10200 CAD, 6200 GBP, 5400 JOD, 22 000 TND.  Salary paid in QAR.      

  • Free fully furnished accommodation provided.
  • Transport allowance of 1250 QAR per month added to your basic salary.
  • Free "round trip" (to and from home country) flight tickets on joining, annual leave, and on repatriation. For those with family contract offered this will be also be applicable for your family (wife and up to 3 children up to 18 years old).
  • School allowance: 21 000 QAR (maximum) for up to 3 children (ages 5- 18) per child per academic year provided that they are studying in private schools in Doha.
  • 40 days paid annual vacation days.
  • End of Service Award (at end of contract) which is one month's salary for each year worked.
  • Etc.

Minimum Requirements


  • Master’s Degree in Health, Public Health, Medical degree, Nursing with the epidemiology training.


  • Minimum: 6 years experience in Public Health or Healthcare.
  • At least 3 years of this 6 years must be as an Epidemiologist OR in epidemiology  medical statistics.

Position Summary

The Senior epidemiologist is responsible for providing expert epidemiological, scientific, and technical leadership in designing and conducting epidemiology investigations. Also conduct research, as well as oversee public health programs and train other healthcare workers on communicable disease control.

Principal Accountabilities

  1. Lead Epidemiology Assessment and Analysis:
    • Validate identification of public health problems pertinent to the population
    • Organize surveillance
    • Design investigation of acute and chronic conditions or other adverse outcomes in the population
    • Synthesize principles of good ethical/legal practice for application to study design and data collection, dissemination, and use
    • Manage data from surveillance, investigations, or other sources
    • Evaluate data from an epidemiological investigation or study
    • Evaluate results of the analysis, and interpret conclusions
    • Formulate new interventions on the basis of evidence when available, and control measures in response to epidemiological findings
    • Perform other duties as assign
  2. Evaluate programs:
    • Develop processes for using laboratory resources to support epidemiological activities
    • Apply principles of informatics, including data collection, processing, and analysis, in support of epidemiological practice
    • Develop and manage information systems to improve effectiveness of surveillance, investigation, and other epidemiological practices
  3. Communicate with various audiences in a timely and relevant manner:
    • Organize preparation of written and oral reports and presentations that communicate necessary information to professional audiences, policymakers, and the general public
    • Create messages that follow the principles of risk communication
    • Model interpersonal skills in communications with agency personnel, colleagues, and the public
    • Use effective communication technologies
  4. Integrate Community Dimensions into Epidemiology Practice:
    • Lead epidemiological studies, public health programs, and community public health planning processes at the state, local, or tribal level
    • Develop community partnerships to support epidemiological investigations
  5. Develop, support and model leadership and systems thinking:
    • Use performance measures to evaluate and improve epidemiology program effectiveness
    • Promote ethical conduct in epidemiological practice
    • Prepare for emergency response
    • Describe the financial planning and budgetary process of epidemiology program
  6. Work in a culturally competent manner:
    • Describe population by race; ethnicity; culture; societal, educational, and professional backgrounds; age; gender; religion; disability; and sexual orientation.
    • Design surveillance systems to include groups subject to health disparities or other potentially underrepresented groups (using standard categories where available).
    • Conduct investigations using languages and approaches tailored to population.
    • Use standard population categories or subcategories when performing data analysis.
    • Use knowledge of specific socio - cultural factors in the population to interpret findings.
    • Support public health actions that would be relevant to the affected community.
