Licensed experience:

7+ years clinical experience in the field of Respiratory Therapy

out of which 2 years experience in Acute Care/Critical Care specialty.

Specific experience:

Currently working in Acute Care/Critical Care.

Respiratory therapy education experience in Acute Care.

Participating in RT department quality project /research paper publications

(outcome based).

Fulltime studies:

Bachelor Degree in Respiratory Therapy (not Diploma)

Valid license from country of origin as Respiratory Therapist (not Technician)

Overview of the role:

Reports to: Director of Respiratory Therapy.. 

Subordinates: Registered Respiratory Therapist. 

Job Summary: The purpose of this role is to provide Respiratory Therapy Education to health care workers and maintain continuous professional development, integration and management of clinical care and research activities within the various subspecialty areas. Strives to provide evidence-based care by leading the integration of research with practice. Maintains a commitment to lifelong learning and creates, utilizes and/or disseminates new knowledge to others.

 



Package

 

Overseas Contract Grade 112. Respiratory Therapist Specialist

Total Salary (basic & transport allowance) +/- 20 900 QAR. Currency Conversion

Basic Salary: +/- 19650 QAR per month. The offered amount is the discretion of the employer. 

Transport Allowance: 1250 QAR per month. 

Accommodation: Provided.

Annual Leave: 40 calendar days.

Air Passage Entitlement: Economy class air passage/flight ticket for self and family - up to 3 children up to 18 years old, on joining, annual leave & repatriation (provided that he/she obtained residence permit for them under his/her sponsorship).

Baggage Allowance: Unaccompanied baggage for yourself - up to 50 kg and family up to 200 kg on joining, and 100kg for self and 250 kg for family on  repatriation, to be reimbursed at standard rate.

Specification

 

1. Co-ordinates, develops and provides a comprehensive staff orientation program

2. Assesses the learning needs of the Respiratory Therapy staff and plans clinical education experiences and programs to meet these needs, organizational priorities and healthcare trends.

3. Acts as a role model and mentor regarding expert cardio-respiratory practice for staff within the program

4. Integrates new practice changes and/or legislative standards into professional practice and curriculum development

5. Works collaboratively with the Chief Respiratory Therapist to plan, develop and provide continuing educationprograms

6. Works with other members of the inter professional team to identify opportunities for joint learning and knowledge transfer, and inter professional education; for example: educational rounds, case presentation and discussions, journal club

7. Provides direct patient care and acts as a resource for the delivery of care for staff, patients and families withinthe program

8. Advocates for the child and family, provides specialized, comprehensive care, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.

9. Provide leadership to Respiratory Therapy team on projects, initiatives and changes related to education, research, clinical practice and Quality management

10. Provides expertise and is a resource in the development of departmental policy, procedures and protocols related to Respiratory Care.

11. provides direct Respiratory Care for patients/families with complex cardio-respiratory conditions including assessments, diagnostic, monitoring, anticipatory care/management of complex conditions, therapeutic care and treatment interventions.

12. Administration of specialty medical gases such as helium, nitric oxide, oxygen therapy etc. airway management, ventilation invasive and non-invasive including non-conventional ventilation.

13. Provides clinical expertise in the development of inter-professional patient care plans

14. Leads in the evaluation of patient discharge planning activities as they relate to cardio respiratory care needs.

15. Participates in rounds with the healthcare team and is a resource to the inter-professional team regardingcomplex cardio-respiratory care.

16. Perform other duties as assigned.
