Job Summary:
The purpose of this role is to develop and manage the specific clinical programs which will improve hospital performance impacting upon innovation & development, service transformation & improvement, and strategic enhancements delivering sustained longer-term improvements that are based on hospital strategies and objectives.
Managing the operational and performance management activities of the Department, ensuring that services delivered meet accreditation and standards.
Ensure the hospital’s medical workforces are developing under the umbrella of an academic health system.
Analyse trends and develop learning records from incidents and implement action plans aimed at improving the quality of care and safety provided to patients.
Responsible to Lead and manage the specific clinical program adapting to situations requiring a significant degree of evaluative judgment for problem solving within broadly defined policies, principles, and leadership direction with diverse healthcare stakeholders across the care delivery system.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Assist the Clinical Department to develop a clear service vision and strategy for the Department that is closely aligned with the Hospital and Corporate objectives also develop, implement and monitor service improvement and capital projects.
2. Assist with planning business processes and expansion of horizons by conducting extensive benchmarking, demographic trend analysis and cost/benefit analysis and reporting.
3. Provide expertise, support, training, and advice in compliance to Corporate and departmental Clinical Governance standards, patient safety, clinical risk and ensure recommendations from the Quality council are implemented.
4. Support Clinical Leads by analysing and reporting incident trends and developing and implementing corrective action plan.
5. Resolving complaints / concerns that are relayed by the Patient and Visitor through different channels.
6. Lead the clinical department in preparing business cases for the procurement process for all stock and capital items in close collaboration with the ED of the hospital.
7. Supporting aggregate service costing for insurance and financial planning, identifying budget variance and analysing for cause determination and rectification with clinical staff.
8. Ensuring optimal utilization of resources with appropriate overtime control system.
9. Responsible for program specific key performance indicators and outcome measures as well as utilizing the data for forward decision making.
10. Coordinates with & facilitates / patients & patient families, clinical department chairs, section heads & chief of medical staffs, patient complaint centre & other concerned departments resolving any patient issues.
11. Acts with integrity in the performance of official duties, maintaining the strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and other information especially while completing patient complaint reports.
12. Responding to clinical/medical inquiries from Courts, Forensic Medicine service, Police, Ministry of Interior and other external government offices.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
