Minimum Requirements

Experience

7-9 years in sports medicine, with at least 3-5 years in a similar position.

Education & licensing

MD degree with an unrestricted medical license. Master’s degree in Sports Medicine or formal training in sports medicine (fellowship training, board-recognized subspecialty in sports medicine, or Specialty Board certification in sports medicine). Must fulfill all licensing requirements.

Certifications

Trained in CPR and First Aid. Advanced cardiac life support training is desirable.

Preferred Experience

Previous role as a Club/Federation Doctor in an elite sports setting.

Continuous learning

Commitment to ongoing medical education in sports medicine.

Professional involvement

Active membership and participation in a recognized sports medicine society.

Job-specific technical skills

Fundamental knowledge of emergency care in sporting events. Working knowledge of trauma, musculoskeletal injuries, and medical conditions affecting athletes. Additional training in sports medicine or related fields is preferred.

This role is primarily field based, focusing on athletes or as required by business needs.

Working Relationships

You will collaborate closely with athletes, sports club officials, technical staff, physiotherapists, and internal and external medical professionals.

Role Overview

As a Sports Club & Federation Doctor, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of athletes, helping them reach their full potential while making critical medical decisions regarding their safe participation in sports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing on-field medical support for sports club teams.
  • Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive athlete care.
  • Acting as the primary referrer to the hospital for sports medicine-related cases.
  • Taking full responsibility for comprehensive medical care at all levels of athlete participation.

This position requires a high level of expertise in sports medicine, proactive decision-making, and close collaboration with medical and sports professionals to optimize athlete performance and recovery.
