This is an Open Ended Single Contract job opportunity available at a Private Hospital located in Salmiya, KUWAIT.  

Basic Salary starting FROM 600 KD per month upwards + Incentives + Free Accommodation. 

600 Kuwaiti Dinar is a basic salary of +/- 30 100 South-African Rand, 1500 GBP, 1740 EUR, 5500 TND, 3000 000 LBP, 1400 JOD, 145 000 INR.

Minimum Requirements


4 Year Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (only full time studies Degree's and Diplomas)

Prefer: with Post Basic/Graduate Certificate/Diploma in Emergency Care. 

1st Line Management Certificate/Diploma is an advantage.      


7 years clinical experience, preferably with 5 years in Emergency room.

Must have at least 3 years experience as a Head/In-charge Nurse in the Emergency

and /or 2 years in a Nursing Supervisory post.


Valid Primary Nursing License/Registration to practice from the country of origin AND should be eligible to  license as a RN from Ministry Of Health- Kuwait. 


Fluent in English.


Knowledge and proficiency in fundamental nursing procedures such as IV Therapy, ECG vitals, medication administration and drug calculation, proper wound management, naso-gastric tube insertion, documentation, etc. Knowledge of sterilization techniques, safety measures, good hygiene, environmental sanitation and infection control standards. Acquainted in different medical apparatus or equipment. 



The Head Nurse- ER consults with the Nursing Director concerning administrative, professional and clinical issues, and assumes operational responsibility of the OPD, NMC and GUST. Manages and coordinates the unit; directs and supervises functions and activities; interprets policies, procedures, standards and regulations as appropriate.  Performs duties in any nursing capacity as needed.



Maintains established departmental policies & procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Takes corrective action in the event of violations.

Prepares and oversees work schedules; assigns personnel to patients based on acuteness of patient care needs and staff availability.

Evaluates work performance and make recommendations for personnel actions.

Directs maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.

Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with Hospital standards.

Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department.  Periodically reviews department’s policies and procedures, updates and amends with current information.

Ensures accurate maintenance of patients’ medical records and confidentiality of information contained therein. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.

Prepares quarterly report of all assigned activities.

Identifies and reports to the Nursing Director, areas of nursing care delivery that requires in-service education and initiates action to correct the problem.

Maintains awareness of ongoing Quality Assurance studies within the unit; assists in the implementation of corrective actions determined necessary.

Adjusts staffing to meet needs and to provide adequate coverage of unit during off shift and consults the department manager for long term staff adjustments.

Consults with Nursing Administration concerning management of assigned units and all related matters.  Initiates activities that promotes nursing and generates new avenues for increase of revenues.

Assists attending physicians and aids patients and families as needed in times of stress or crisis.

Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops 

Attends meetings as required, and actively participates on committee as directed.


Performs other related duties as assigned by the Nursing Director.
