The role of Clinical Professor:  

Report To: Dean @School of Medicine at CAU.

Duties include academic teaching, non clinical subject.

Teaching medical students year 1 to year 6.

 

CAU aim to hire:   

Graduates with specialist qualifications from universities in countries such as Australia, Canada, USA, South-Africa, Germany, France, United-Kingdom, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Turkey. PhD candidates highly preferred. Excellent English proficiency essential as all lecturers/teaching are done in English. Seven to ten years (7-10 years) registered Specialist clinical experience. Experience to include academic service. Desirable to have a research track record, publications in rated journals, track record in securing research grants. Package

 

2 Year Overseas Family Contract. 

Working Hours: A maximum of 240 lecture hours per year in total. Practical hours will be distributed among the department physicians depending on the workload.

CAU to discuss this with selected candidate as CAU will allocate time for physician to practice.  Working Days: 5 days per week.

Monthly Salary after tax deductions:  21 000 USD per month +/- 18 850 EUR, 28500 CAD, 31 000 AUD, 15900 GBP.

Total of 270 000 USD per year. Additional, exact compensation for clinical work performed under review by clinic management. Will be discussed with successful candidate. 

Housing: The employer will cover the cost for renting  up to 1500 USD per month. If the rent exceeds 1500 USD, the difference will need to be covered by the employee. The rental apartment will be located neat the hospital. (Note: The average cost of apartments in Tashkent is around 1000 USD per month).

Additionally, until a suitable apartment is found the employer may offer temporary accommodation in a four-star-hotel.

Flight Tickets Payment: The employer will cover cost of flights on joining, at the end of contract and for annual leave during academic year (economy class). Provided that the flight is booked at at least 1 month in advance.

Medical Insurance: Bi-annual check-ups at AKFA Medline Hospital for employee and the employees family. 

Sport Facilities: Free use of sports center at the University whenever needed.

Adaptation Support: Assistance in obtaining work visa, resolving administrative issues, assistance in opening local bank account for candidate if needed etc.

Additional Terms: Marketing: For promotional purposes participating in a photoshoot and potentially being featured in marketing materials such as social media posts, the university website and other promotional channels.

Minimum Requirements

 

Language:  Must have excellent spoken and written English proficiency as all lecturers/teaching are done in English.

Education:  Post graduate medical specialist qualification. PhD highly preferred. 

Experience: Minimum: 7- 10 years medical practice experience post Specialist qualification. Prefer Formal teaching experience.

Registration and license to practice: Valid registration and license to practice in home country.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office essential. Strong IT skills.

Research and Publications:  Desirable to have a research track record, publications in rated journals, track record in securing research grants.

Soft Skills: Team player, strong role model, good communication skills, leadership and management skills, committed to personal development, flexible to work irregular hours should the occasion require so.

Department: Medical School.

Teaching medical students at CAU (year 1 to year 6).

Organizing and coordinating course / modules.

Delivering lectures, tutorials, practical activities and learning support on main campus and affiliated clinical set up.

Ensuring that teaching and learning materials as updated as required.

Organizing and contributing to the end-of-semester exams: Theory/OSCE's/Clinical Exams.

To contribute to the development and the revision of the curriculum including virtual learning and simulation.

Maintaining records to monitor student professionalism, attendance and achievement. 

General Responsibilities:

Assisting the Dean, Deputy Dean, Cycle, Year and Discipline Leads in delivering the curriculum.

Attending Medicine Board and university committee meetings as required.

Implementing policies and decisions as determined by the Dean and university committees.

Participate in student support systems and act as personal mentor to individual students. 

Complying with rules and legislation university and state.

Ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to.
