This is an Open Ended Single Contract job opportunity available at a Private Hospital located in Salmiya, KUWAIT.  

Basic Salary starting FROM 600 KD per month upwards + Incentives + Free Accommodation. 

600 Kuwaiti Dinar is a basic salary of +/- 30 100 South-African Rand, 1500 GBP, 1740 EUR, 5500 TND, 3000 000 LBP, 1400 JOD, 145 000 INR.

Minimum Requirements


4 Year Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (only full time studies Degree's and Diplomas)

Prefer: with Post Basic/Graduate Certificate/Diploma in OB/GYN Nursing Care. 

1st Line Management Certificate/Diploma is an advantage.      


7 years clinical experience, preferably with 5 years in OB/GYN /Neonatal / Labor & Delivery ward. 

Must have at least 3 years experience as a Head/In-charge Nurse in the OB/GYN 

and /or 2 years in a Nursing Supervisory post.


Valid Primary Nursing License/Registration to practice from the country of origin AND should be eligible to  license as a RN from Ministry Of Health- Kuwait. 


Fluent in English.


Knowledge and proficiency in fundamental nursing procedures such as IV Therapy, ECG vitals, medication administration and drug calculation, proper wound management, naso-gastric tube insertion, documentation, etc. Knowledge of sterilization techniques, safety measures, good hygiene, environmental sanitation and infection control standards. Acquainted in different medical apparatus or equipment. 



The Head Nurse- Ob/Gyn. consults with the Area Supervisor concerning administrative, professional and clinical issues, and assumes operational responsibility of the Inpatient Ob/Gyn. ward 2nd /3rd floor and Patient Ante-natal education unit. Directs and supervises activities, interprets and implements policies/procedures and standards as per the ACI & JCIA recommendations and Ministry of Health regulations as appropriate. 



Directs and supervises Nursing services personnel within the Obstetrics and Gynecology program in accordance with the Hospital, governmental bodies (MOH) and other regulatory standards.

Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions and adjusts staffing to provide appropriate coverage and to meet the needs of the client.

Evaluates work performance and makes recommendations.Directs maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials to promote efficiency, health, comfort, and safety of patients and staff.

Ensures availability of adequate supply of consumable and non-consumable for patient care requirement, through a systematic inventory and ordering process.

Establishes and maintains inventories of equipment and other supplies, and ensures that par levels are maintained.

Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with Hospital standards.

Ensures accurate maintenance of patients’ medical records and confidentiality of information contained therein.

Prepares written documentation as required by the Nursing department, and maintains appropriate records and statistics as directed.

Formulates departmental monthly report as directed by the Department.

Assists in the preparation of the fiscal budget and makes appropriate recommendation.

Contributes in the implementation of total Quality Management Programmes aimed at best practice methods within a climate of customer focus.

Consults with Nursing Administration concerning management of assigned areas and all related matters.

Participates in the development and implementation of departmental goals & objectives, philosophy and mission statement.

Provides staff development and education programmes in consultation with Clinical Instructor and Area leader

Assists in the process of selection, orientation and training, and initiates performance evaluation of Department personnel.

Plans and conducts regular unit meetings and maintain minutes of meetings.
